1. Get to know your swap or rental partner Getting to know each other inspires confidence on both sides. You may need to exchange 20 or 30 messages and have a phone conversation before coming to an agreement. An successful exchange can sometimes lead to a lasting friendship.
2. Make your home welcoming A clean and tidy home stocked with a supply of basic provisions (tea, coffee, sugar, milk et) and with plenty of wardrobe and drawer space will help to make your swap partners feel at home. We also recommend that you leave a "house book" with helpful hints and local wisdom.
3. Home insurance Tell your insurance company what you are planning to do so that you are covered. Most companies welcome home exchange arrangements on the grounds that it is bettter to have your home occupied while you are away than left empty.
