Why Brilliant w/kids or not! Lots to do for all, Amsterdam close, mess about on river, riverside cafes, we'll leave bikes!

About our home

The house is about 130 years old and the street is closed to traffic. Everyone lives in the street during the summer and there's always a barbecue to join and kids to play with if your little ones need a play pal. The neighbours are Dutch, English and German, they speak English and are very sociable. When you want you can read or snooze in the patio. The ground floor is open-plan, the modern kitchen is fully prepared for the culinary arts or there's TV, wifi, lounge sofas and comfy armchairs. Toilet downstairs and also in the bathroom upstairs, the bath has a jacuzzi built in. Ours is the only house with a tree outside, providing shade for the bench beneath it - my favourite spot on a hot day with a book. The centre of town/shops are 2 mins away and we're one street from the main river. There are several playgrounds, restaurants, cafes and an award-winning ice cream parlour. Markets are twice per week, one regular one organic. The train takes 17 mins to get to Amsterdam Central but you can always take the bike. Cycle paths along the rivers, into the countryside or to neighbouring towns where there are castles, picnic areas overlooking the water, farm shops and small beaches. Bigger beaches are an hour max by car.
