About our home

The style of house is called the Alt Bau in German, characterized by high ceilings (making light bulb changing a challenge!). There is one large and one small bedroom, a lounge room, bathroom, separate bathroom and WC and a small store room. By UK standards, there is a feeling of space in the rooms and I've been happy here for 7+ years. Despite claiming I live a humble life, there is a dishwasher, electric cooker, microwave, washing machine and a very reliable Junkers boiler (by law has to be serviced every year). I have a TV, digital box, DVD/VHS (though I rarely have time to watch it) and wi-fi (did people really live without wifi once upon a time?). The apartment building has international school teachers in another 5 apartments.
